I believe kindness, accountability, and clearheadedness are three of the most important traits that any successful people can have.
Kindness attracts people because almost nobody is truly kind without an ulterior motive.
Kindness means that people want to be around you because you make them feel better about themselves.
This is vital because everyone wants others to help make them feel better about themselves, even those you would think wouldn't need it.
Now, two things with kindness.
One, do not be kind just to be kind.
You should be kind because you genuinely care for the other person and you do not want anything in return.
That is of utmost importance.
Two, people will often mistake kindness for weakness which is a problem I could spend another hour talking about but beware of those folk and avoid them at all costs.
Why? Because these people will exploit you and leave you in the dust when it matters.
Next, accountability.
If you are truly accountable of yourself and all your actions, you can never go wrong.
You will cherish all of your wins because you really did that shit.
But you will also learn from all your losses in which case, every scenario is a win-win.
It's just a great way to live life since you will not make excuses and you will just do what needs to be done.
When you accept full responsibility over outcomes, it gives you a sense of peace because you know that nothing is not out of your control (even though in reality it usually is).
Many people would think this would give them stress.
I would disagree.
Stress comes from dwelling over uncertain outcomes.
In this case, if you are accountable over your actions, you accept you are in charge of what is going to come and you will do your best to make sure everything works out.
Now this leads into the third trait which is wholly under-appreciated in today's society.
Those who are clear thinkers have a luxury that 99.99% of people don't have and that is an uncluttered mind.
An uncluttered mind is by far the most powerful because you can think about the things that truly matter.
As Naval says, there are three things that overwhelmingly matter in each of our lives: where we live, who we are with (partners, friends, etc.), and what we do (occupation, etc.).
When you have a clear mind and the ability to think from first principles, you can now understand these things from the most foundational level.
I cannot stress how important that is.
I encourage everyone reading this right now to drop whatever you're doing and truly think about these 3 things.
They have the biggest control over how your life goes.
Not to mention, a life without a cluttered mind with societal problems, politics, and drama is just so much more fulfilling.
So I talked about kindness, and that's taking charge of the relationships you develop with people.
Accountability is taking charge over your actions and outcomes in general.
Clear thinking is taking charge of your mind.
These traits, are traits I've seen by and large in the most successful people I've ever met and taking charge is the unifying factor.
