Explore. Then Find Your Passion.

Following your passion is impossible if you've never explored

I came across a tweet of Sahil Bloom saying that passion is sometimes an unnecessary inhibitor for progress.

While it seems a bit crazy at first sight, I wholeheartedly agree with this statement and I wanted to deconstruct it a bit first.

First, what is passion? Passion, in my view, comes about when your natural talent combines with a domain that gives you a sense of purpose.

Passion does not simply come out of nowhere, and it is not something that is waiting to surprise you.

You must actively seek different opportunities and DISCOVER it once you are doing many different things.

It is a byproduct of testing many fields and finding what fits you.

Once you find your passion, you’ll intrinsically know that this is where your efforts belong at least for the time being.

If it’s something that excites you today, but may bore you in the future, then it’s not THE passion and you should keep looking.

This is usually one of life’s hardest choices.

What do I want to spend my time doing? Most people give up on this journey and take along a career that does not give them any meaning beyond the money.

This is unfortunate and I encourage everyone reading this to figure out truly what they want to spend their time working on because at one point, you’ll definitely be regretful if you didn’t.

So my advice is to not wait for passion to show up.

Just jump into and explore many different disciplines.

If you don’t know where to start, I would suggest looking in to any fields that include you creatively building something that has a force multiplier on your judgement (content creation, software development, building companies, investing, etc.).

Next, take this a step forward and look to apply this skills to industries that are rapidly evolving.

Cryptocurrency, genomics, robotics, AI, etc.

Working on something truly revolutionary I can guarantee will bring joy to your life in some way or another.

Aim big with your dreams!
