Developing a Bias for Action

Choosing action over inaction

If I had to boil success down to a single sentence it would be developing a bias for action for high leverage opportunities.

In a previous blog post, I talked about how to select the best opportunities.

The next step is to develop a bias for action where you intrinsically have the motivation to go out and make something happen.

It’s all about being the type of person that goes out and just does shit.

Think about it, you literally cannot lose in life whether your goal is to be famous, happy, rich, or do something impactful - the way to get there is by doing dope things on a daily basis.

Go ahead and start that project that you’ve always wanted to - now is the time.

There will never be a perfect time for you to do what you’re meant to do.

Don’t sit around and wait.

Nothing will materialize with you first starting.

Reflecting on my own life these past few years, I’ve realized I suffered from a great amount of procrastination from putting off the important things in life.

I was unable to start on the big goals I set up for myself because I was paralyzed in the comfort of not doing anything.

It’s a scary thing and I’m glad I overcame my fears and started to put myself out there at a young age.

I didnt want to live a life of regret whether it be from not being able to work at the companies I wanted to or even being able to start trading by asking my parents to open a brokerage for me.

They seem like trivial things in the moment but both took a herculean amount of effort in the moment - things I was scared to do for years due to imposter syndrome, being comfortable, and not thinking big enough.

Developing a bias for action and simply internalizing the systems that make me DO things on a daily basis have changed my life in an incredible amount of ways.

It got me into the right groups of people, it got me into the right companies, it got me thinking in the right ways about my life, and most importantly, it gave me the confidence to now execute on anything I want to do.

I’ve built the programming skills to build apps for millions, I’ve cultivated the writing habits to write articles for millions, and I’ve built the investing knowledge to make millions of dollars.

All because I stopped planning and I started doing.

Develop a bias for action in whatever you do - I guarantee it’ll change your life.
